Bhatti says Guttedars rule the roost in TRS

He said that the people would teach a lesson to the TRS in the ensuing general elections.

Khammam: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the state government was making a false campaign on various schemes and creating misconceptions among the people.

He said that the people would teach a lesson to the TRS in the ensuing general elections.

“The state is at a critical position. Telangana was given a surplus budget but the government laid a burden of '2 lakh crore on people,” he said.

There was no transparency in projects that involved massive funds. “Irrigation projects were redesigned just for kickbacks and crores of public money is being wasted. There is no proper planning or system in introducing and executing schemes and projects. So far, the government has not given water to a single acre,” he claimed.

He alleged that guttedars were ruling the roost in the TRS government and contracts involving crores of rupees were being given to the TRS MLAs and MPs and these leaders who earned huge amounts of money through contracts were spending lavishly in the elections.

TRS guttedars distributed money to the candidates who contested in the gram panchayat elections, he alleged.

He jibed, “The greatness of the TRS government is making even village elections costly.”

He said that general elections would be different as the results of Khammam district, where Congress and allied parties won in eight places in the Assembly elections, would be reflected in the entire state.

He said that Congress workers worked hard in the Assembly elections and the party would extend all support to the party activists who should be ready for another election battle soon. He thanked AICC president Rahul Gandhi for appointing him as the CLP leader.
