Pejawar seer: You can't take over my math

On Wednesday, there were rumours about the government planning to take control of Hindu Maths in the state.

Mangaluru: Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math has strongly opposed any move by the state government to take control of Hindu Maths.

On Wednesday, there were rumours about the government planning to take control of Hindu Maths in the state. "I will not initiate a fight against this. Let the people of the state decide. However if the government takes control of Krishna Math I will come out. I cannot be in the math as an employee of the government" the Swamiji said.

He clarified that he has not received any confirmation about the government taking control of the maths. "If the government has initiated such a step then it has given an opportunity to the opposition to launch a campaign. Taking control of Hindu Maths will prove the state government is anti-Hindu. A secular government should not discriminate. It should treat the Majority and Minority communities equally," he said..

He also spoke about the recent move of the government to withdraw cases against minorities. "Let the government withdraw cases against all innocent people," he demanded.

The Dharma Sansad held in November at Udupi had opposed government control over temples.
