Madurai temple mandapam shops told to vacate in a day
Earlier, collector Rao inspected the damaged areas inside the Mandapam along with temple officials.
Madurai: District collector Veera Raghava Rao on Wednesday directed Meenakshi Amman temple authorities and revenue department to issue notice to shops located in Veeravasantharayar Mandapam, damaged in the recent fire, to vacate.
The collector issued the order to facilitate removal of debris and to carry out renovation work in the mandapam based on the request from temple authorities.
The shop keepers will be given one day to vacate the shops. Earlier, collector Rao inspected the damaged areas inside the Mandapam along with temple officials. A team has been constituted to carry out the renovation work of the Mandapam.
