Kerala government announces Rs 5 lakh solatium for dog attack victim's family

Cabinet also approved to create 100 non-teaching staff posts in Kannur University.

THIRUVANANTHPURAM: Cabinet on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 5 lakh solatium to the family of Rajamma, a resident of Ambedkar Charity Colony at Vythiri, who was mauled to death by a pet dog. This amount is over and above Rs 5,000 sanctioned by Wayanad Collector. Cabinet also approved to create 100 non-teaching staff posts in Kannur University.

Retired District Judge K George Oommen to be appointed as member Kerala Law Reforms Commission in the vacancy arising out of the death of former AG M K Damodaran.

Retired principal chief forest conservator K J Varghese has been appointed as special officer in the rank of principal chief forest conservator, for expansion and development of Kotoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Zoological Park at Puthur in Thrissur district. Ayush department principal secretary B Srinivas given additional charge of the Cashew Department.

B. Abdul Nasser has been appointed the Housing Commissioner. He will also hold the additional charge of secretary of the Housing Board.
