IndiGo to connect 3 major cities with Vijayawada

IndiGo authorities said that it would also consider the Vijayawada-New Delhi ticket fares to be economical, most likely between Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000.

Vijayawada: Private airlines, IndiGo, has entered the competetive market by offering throwaway fares to the air passengeres travelling from Vijayawada to various domestic destinations, like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

IndiGo authorities said that it would also consider the Vijayawada-New Delhi ticket fares to be economical, most likely between Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000.

Sharing details with Deccan Chronicle, IndiGo Chief Commercial officer (CCO) Sanjay Kumar said that Indigo is even considering initiating flights from Vijayawada to Varanasi, via Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The air passengers from Vijayawada are catching their New Delhi flights, from Shamshabad airport in the early hours, due to heavy fares for New Delhi bound flights from Vijayawada, in the night timings.

“We promise IndiGo fares to New Delhi will be economical,” said Mr Sanjay Kumar. Speaking about IndiGo’s operations from March 2, from Vijayawada airport, the fare of the Vijayawada-Hyderabad first flight on March 2 would be Rs 1,246 per ticket, inclusive of all taxes, and three flights would be there from Vijayawada to Hyderabad -- at 12.10 pm, 6.45 pm and 9.35 pm. “The ticket fare from Hyderabad to Vijayawada would be Rs 1,799, inclusive of all taxes, from 6.30 am, 1.50 pm and 8.10 pm,” he added.

IndiGo operates flights to Bengaluru and Chennai also, from Vijayawada at 8 am and 3.15 pm, and the fares will be Rs 1,826 and Rs 1,179 respectively.

“There will be five flights from Vijayawada to Hyderabad, Chennai and, Bengaluru daily.” Apart from this Vijayawada will also be connected to many new cities on IndiGo’s existing network of Airbus 320s and ATRs.

IndiGo will connect Vijayawada to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Dubai, Singapore, Sharjah among other cities via Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.The IndiGo airline has also inducted a brand new Airbus A320 NEO aircraft into its fleet.(
