Numaish industrial exhibition is open only for women today at Nampally
Hyderabad: The All India Industrial Exhibition at Nampally will be opened exclusively for women on Tuesday when men and children above 10 years of age will not be allowed inside the premises.
The last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan, had in 1940, dedicated ‘Ladies Day’ for Muslim women who hesitate to mingle with the men in large groups. “We have dedicated a day exclusively for the women and kids at Numaish, even if it means that the arrival of visitors will be low on Tuesday,” honorary secretary of the exhibition society, Mr G.V. Ranga Reddy told this newspaper.
“In the past, every Tuesday was dedicated for the women, but we have observed that the number of visitors on ‘Ladies Day’ has been decreasing annually. So, we have decided to dedicate one day this time also. Visitors will be allowed to enter the exhibition from 4 pm onwards.” Mr G.V. Ranga Reddy added.
