Don't blame HD Kumaraswamy for nothing, says JD(S) leader

Responding, a senior JD(S) leader asked the Congress MLAs to stop blaming Mr Kumaraswamy for no fault of his.

Bengaluru: Seeing the prized board and corporation posts slipping out of their hands, some Congress MLAs have demanded an explanation and want to know whether the Chief Minister was trying to keep his party legislators happy by sidelining them.

The sharing of boards and corporations has become a bone of contention between the Congress and JD(S) with these legislators strongly objecting to the list of appointees released by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday. The list announced the names of Congress legislators appointed to 14 boards and corporations , excluding the BDA, KSRTC, BMRCL and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.

Responding, a senior JD(S) leader asked the Congress MLAs to stop blaming Mr Kumaraswamy for no fault of his. The CM had only signed the list presented by the Congress and had not prepared it, he claimed, asking the legislators to instead question their leaders like Deputy CM Dr G Parameshwar, KPCC president, Dinesh Gundu Rao and former CM Siddaramaiah on why they had not recommended their names. "We too have an end to our patience and it must not be tested day in and day out. Don't blame Mr Kumaraswamy for everything. Let the Congress withdraw its support if it is not interested in being part the part of government," he shot back.

The two parties have been sparring over sharing the posts after the Congress took the lion's share because of its strength in the Assembly. Angered by this, a group of JD(S) legislators had poured out their woes to their party supremo, H D Deve Gowda and demanded to be treated on par with the Congress MLAs. Mr Gowda ,who had promised to discuss the issue with his coalition partner, appears to have kept his word.
