KG Halli molestation case: Victim contradicts herself
BENGALURU: A day after the alleged molestation of a hijab-clad girl in K.G. Halli, the survivor is reportedly giving contradictory statements to the police. The police are reportedly suspecting that it could be a case of attempt to robbery and not molestation.
Sources said that the victim, who had initially claimed that the accused tried to molest her, had retracted her statement. “She is not sticking to one statement, which is leading us to suspect whether the accused was known to the victim. We are also verifying her call details,” an official said.
“In the footage, we can clearly see the man, accused of molestation, walking without any haste after the incident. It is hard to believe her statement, as any miscreant would try to escape from the scene first. However, we have not come to any conclusion,” the official said.
Another official said that the accused tried to snatch the victim’s bag, and she raised an alarm, he tried to close her mouth by his hand. In the melee, the girl fell and sustained bruises. Two teams have been formed to trace the accused.
