Vizag mayor inspects lowlands in city

She said regular removal of silt in Gnanapuram Errigedda has led to rain water getting drained out smoothly

VISAKHAPATNAM: City mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari on Wednesday inspected Gnanapuram Errigedda in the fifth zone, Pentamamba Ootagadda in 75th ward and Main Gedda and Nadipuri in 76th ward.

Speaking to media, she said regular removal of silt in Gnanapuram Errigedda has led to rain water getting drained out smoothly. She pointed out that two JCBs have been deployed to remove silt and accumulated garbage from the lowlands area. Six vehicles have been pressed into service to take away garbage.

The mayor asked local people to inform authorities in case they are facing difficulties. She said sanitation workers have been deployed to clean the main gutters.

After noticing a large amount of garbage on way to China Waltair Kotak School, she ordered the sanitary inspector to remove it immediately. She underlined that negligence will not be tolerated.

Venkata Kumari directed officials to undertake works and ensure that problems being faced by the people due to rains are solved.

South Constituency MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar and Gajuvaka MLA Tippala Nagireddy were present.
