NHRC to probe Hyderabad encounter

The apex human rights body said the encounter was a matter of concern and needed to be probed carefully.

NEW DELHI: Taking cognisance of the encounter killing of four accused in Hyderabad gangrape and murder case, the National Human Rights Commission on Friday ordered an inquiry into the incident.

The apex human rights body said the encounter was a matter of concern and needed to be probed carefully. Accordingly, it asked its Director General (Investigation) to immediately send a team on a fact-finding, on-the-spot investigation into the matter. The team headed by a senior superintendent of police is expected to submit its report at the earliest.
