Telangana policy decisions to be blamed

Cases were filed in the Courts which once again halted the recruitment process.

Hyderabad: Policy decisions of the state government have disrupted the process of filling vacancies in the government as they have often encountered legal challenges. For example, the government announced scrapping of the existing zonal system for job reservations, forcing the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to wait until there was some clarity on the new zonal system.

After waiting for months, the government recently reversed its decision and decided to retain the zonal system. When 21 new districts were created from the old 10 districts in October 2017, the boundaries of all the districts changed, which in turn changed the job matrix and the cadre-status.

This resulted in cases being filed in courts against these decisions, which once again halted the drive. An example is the recent Teacher Recruitment Test notification issued by the TSPSC, taking 31 districts as the basis.
