Rajahmundry: As many as 96,364 students will be appearing for the ensuing Intermediate Public Examinations in East Godavari. Board of Intermediate Education regional inspection officer (RIO) M. Venkatesh, giving details about the aspirants for the coming examination. The officer said here on Wednesday that of the total number of students who applied, as many as 45,265 students will be from first year, 41,099 are from second year while the remaining 5,131 students are from vocational courses who would appear for the IPE 2017-18.

Since the state government had decided to award grading to the students from the current academic year instead of marks, students who secured marks between 91 to 100 would be given A1 grade, he said, explaining the system. Those obtaining marks between 81 and 90 will get A2 grade, between 71 and 80 get B1, those getting 61 to 70 will be awarded B2.

Students getting 51 to 60 marks will get C1 and those between 41 and 50 get C2. Students securing marks between 35 and 40 get D1 while those who secure less than 34 marks would be declared as failed. The RIO said that they were conducting additional classes at the government colleges for the benefit of students to help them prepare well for the final exams with an intention to get better pass percentage than last year in the district.
