mKeralam to offer 86 services
Thiruvananthapuram: mKeralam, a single-window mobile app to access all e-governance services of Kerala, will be rolled out soon. A trial version of the app, offering access to 86 services of 14 departments, will be released in a few days. The app will be also made available on PlayStore. It will be compatible with iOS and Android platforms.
According to Kerala State IT Mission sources, the mobile app will be supporting all online payment options like debit cards, credit cards, net banking and e-wallets and there will not be any additional charges.
“The beta version of the app will be made available on Play Store in a few days and the final version will be launched in a month. We hope to offer 100 services through the app during its formal launch,” KSITM head e-governance Mr K. Sabarish said. All the services being offered through the e-District portal will be made available through mKeralam.
The popular services to offered through the app include payments of KSEB and Kerala Water Authority bill, viewing previous bills and metre readings, about 25 certificates of revenue department, various certificates of local bodies and payment of various welfare funds.
The app will also offer a host of updated information from various government departments and agencies like details of tourism spots from tourism department, details of vehicles and driving licences from motor vehicles department, state lottery results and schedules, information regarding various schemes of the government, information on Sabarimala parking and queue, blood donors and weather reports.
All services though the app can be accessed using a single username and password. The username and password registered on the Kerala state portal could be also used for this. Initially the app will be in English version and a Malayalam version of the app would be developed in the due course, said sources.
