Karimnagar: Police put on high alert after maoist encounter

Karimnagar: Police have been put on high alert in the wake of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s scheduled visit to interior areas to inspect irrigation projects on river Godavari.

Recently, the Maharashtra police has encountered seven Maoists including five women, near Kalled village in Aheri Taluq in Gadichiroli district of the neighbouring state on early Wednesday.

The encounter site is said to be just 50 km from the project sites to be visited by the Chief Minister as part of his two-day visit to inspect project sites.
