Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority floats tender to develop Koheda land

The metropolitan body has floated tenders for the development of amenities such as roads, electric supply, sewers and drinking water lines.

HYDERABAD: Nearly 1,110 families heave a sigh of relief as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) initiates steps to develop 118 acres of land in the Koheda village of Hayatnagar. The metropolitan body has floated tenders for the development of amenities such as roads, electric supply, sewers and drinking water lines in survey number 507.

The HMDA acquired nearly 5,150 acres of private land to facilitate the construction of the outer ring road (ORR), an eight-lane expressway encircling the state capital.

Property owners who lost their land to the project were allocated lands in Shamshabad, Maheshwaram, Hayatnagar, Patancheru and Ramachandra-puram mandals as compensation. Some of these property owners received land in Koheda village.

The plots in Koheda were allocated in August 2016. However, the beneficiaries were displeased by the allocations because the plots were of various sizes, and they had not been developed according to a proper layout. After the submission of several representations, it was decided that the land would be developed and basic amenities would be made available.
