Compensation is not adequate: KPCC president MM Hassan

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president MM Hassan said that the package announced by the government for Ockhi victims is insufficient and Rs 20 lakh should be raised to Rs 25 lakh per family. It was on Wednesday that the Chief Minister announced the new package, with Rs 50 lakh from Fishermen Welfare Board, Rs 5 lakh from fisheries department and a government contribution of Rs 10 lakh. Mr Hassan demanded that the government share should be hiked to Rs 15 lakh.
