Visakhapatnam: Every college should adopt a village to see the villagers embracing cashless transactions, said Andhra University vice-chancellor Prof. G. Nageswara Rao. On Tuesday, Andhra University has conducted an awareness programme for its students about online transactions in the varsity campus.

Earlier, the students took out a rally from the AU Administrative Building to AU Assembly Hall via Siripuram of the city. Speaking on this occasion, vice-chancellor Prof. Nageswara Rao said that the demonetisation would bring transparency in the financial matters of the country. AU Registrar Prof. V. Umamaheswara Rao said that it’s time to integrate the technology into our day-to-day affairs. “Decisions like demonetisation of higher currencies can drive country towards economic prosperity and growth,” Prof. Umamaheswara Rao said.
