ICICI bank to help Telangana go cashless
Hyderabad: ICICI Bank has come forward to provide digital services to enable cashless transactions. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao held discussions with ICICI Bank and state government officials on Tuesday at his residence, Pragati Bhavan. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that the state would become a cashless transaction-state at the earliest.
He expressed happiness at knowing that the state had been leading the country in cashless transactions on a large scale for the past five days. He directed IT minister K.T. Rama Rao to educate the people on cash less transactions, prepare jingles and campaign on broadcasting media.
ICICI Bank officials briefed Mr Rao about trend fo digital transactions. He directed CMO officials to collect the data from banks on how many people were using debit cards, how many banks had issued debit cards and how many were in rural areas. He said there was a need for involvement of total government machinery in the “digital mission”. Minister K.T. Rama Rao requested the Chief Minister to launch the mobile app ‘TS wallet’ prepared by the I-T department for digital transactions at the collectors conference scheduled for December 14.
