Hyderabad Metro sets staircase obstacle
Hyderabad: With the Rasoolpura junction becoming a nightmare for motorists, the staircase area for Begumpet, Prakash Nagar, Paradise and Parade Grounds is set to become a major hurdle for vehicular traffic on the road level. The stretch from Parade Grounds to Begumpet will narrow down due to the staircase that would become a major cause of concern for motorists and vehicles.
A senior officer of Metro Rail said, “The traffic chaos at Rasoolpura is making it clear that we need to have better traffic management at the ground level. These aspects are being looked into.” But with the staircase in the middle of the road, pedestrians and motorists have started complaining to the traffic department about the blockage of the road by Metro Rail. People have filed RTI to the Metro Rail department to find out why the road has been blocked and the staircase not taken into the compound of any office that is close to the road. Mr Vijay Kumar who lives in the Mayuri Marg lane said, “It is very difficult at night with speeding cars and bikes on the road and, in the middle, these huge pillars and now staircases. How can the road be used for vehicles?”
