2 dead, 12 injured after Capital Express train derails in Bengal

Kolkata: Two people died and at least 12 were injured after the Capital Express derailed in Alipirduar in West Bengal around 9 pm on Tuesday.

2 coaches train derailed near Samuktala station, which is about 720 kilometres from Kolkata, around 9 pm, said a report in NDTV.

 

According to the Northeast Frontier Railway, the engine and the coach adjacent to it derailed.

Train derailments have become frequent of late. Two weeks ago, 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna express ran off the tracks near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, killing over 140 people.
