Hyderabad: Another illegal construction which cropped up in the Secunderabad Club has been razed by the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB). The club was constructing an indoor stadium in the B3 land, where new constructions are not permitted. One of the officials who had been noticing the construction for the past couple of days alerted the Cantonment Board, which executed the demolition on Tuesday morning.

When this correspondent visited the site, there was a lot of construction material like tiles and sand accumulated at the site. The built-up iron frame was demolished by the Cantonment Board. In order to construct any new structure, prior permissions are mandatory in the SCB.

Bungalow number 220, which falls under Defence land, was constructing a 70/120 sized Volleyball Indoor court in the Secunderabad club, without obtaining any permission from the SCB.

The SCB official said that the demolition started around 11:30 am and ended at 2:30 pm. A JCB was used to demolish the half-constructed court.  There were 25 people carrying out the demolition.  Eight engineers and four supervisors were also at the demolition site.

When Secunderabad club officials were contacted, they refused to comment on the issue.
