Calicut University to host International Kerala history conference

For the first time, all the proceedings of the seminar will be digitized and the participants will get SMS/email alerts.

Kozhikode: Calicut University will host the International Kerala History Conference from November 11 to 13 at Thenjippalam. Over 750 delegates from across the globe are expected to take part in the fourth edition of the conference. Apart from a number of lectures on a wide range of topics, the conference will also have special exhibitions on the history of state.

For the first time, all the proceedings of the seminar will be digitized and the participants will get SMS/email alerts. The can also access the conference details online through a dedicated portal.

The organizers are also planning to facilitate live streaming of the sessions using the technical support of Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) of the University for the school-college students. As many as 10 books will be published during the conference apart from a book on the conference’s proceedings.

The conference will also have nearly 500 paper presentations. French historian Jean-Baptiste Prashant More will deliver the keynote address during the opening session.

Historians like Prof. Y. Subbarayulu (French Institute, Pondicherry), Prof. Venkatachalapathy, Prof. M.R. Raghava Varier and others will present special lectures under the banner ‘Doyens of Kerala Historiography’ during the three-day programme.
