SCB CEO has no time for people to solve woes

Appointments are cancelled if the officer is busy.

Hyderabad: Residents of the Secunderabad Cantonment complain that they are not getting an appointment with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) S.V.R. Chandrashekar, even on the days reserved for public interaction, as the official is busy as returning officer for the upcoming elections.

“Not just during the elections, on any given day it is difficult to get his appointment. There never is any response to emails or calls,” said Mr Venkataramana, a resident of Trimulgherry. He said he had been trying to get an appointment to speak about the Trimulgherry lake issue which has been pending over the years.

In any state-run government office, officials are available for the public from 3 to 5 pm every working day, whereas in the SCB, the CEO is available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appointments are cancelled if the officer is busy.

Vasavinagar Colony Association president Telukunta Sathish Gupta said that when they called to get an appointment to discuss pending issues, they were told that the CEO was busy with election work.

This newspaper was unable to contact Mr Chandrashekar for his comment, despite several attempts.
