Bengaluru: Two people died on the spot in separate road accidents in Nelamangala and Chikkajala traffic police station limits since Friday night.
In the first incident, a 21-year-old biker died on the spot after a speeding tanker hit his bike from behind on Saturday morning in Chikkajala traffic police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Ifran Ahmed, a resident of Hegadenagar and a welder.
According to the police, the incident took place around 9 am near Thanisandara Main Road while Ifran and his friend were on their way to work.
After being hit Ifran, who was riding the bike, lost control and the two fell down. Ifran sustained severe injuries, while his friend escaped with minor injuries.
The Chikkajala traffic police rushed to the spot and shifted them to a nearby hospital where Ifran was declared brought dead.
The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case and arrested the accused truck driver, Subbaraya, 50, a resident of Amruthahalli and seized the vehicle.
In another incident early Saturday, a 30-year-old tempo driver died on spot after he lost control over his vehicle and rammed into a lorry from behind in Nelamangala traffic police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh, a resident of Chikkanayakanahalli. The police said the incident took place around 1:30 am near Boodihala gate in Nelamangala.
According to the police, while trying to overtake a lorry Ramesh lost control over his vehicle and rammed into it.
The passersby immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case.
Bike skids due to slippery road, rider dead
A 25-year-old software engineer died while his colleague escaped with injuries after their bike skidded at Shanthinagar near Wilson Garden on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Azaruddin, the rider, and a resident of Lakksandra. He hails from Madurai in Tamil Nadu and was reportedly going to catch an inter-state bus to go to his hometown.
The injured, Raghu Vishnu (26), was riding pillion. He had a narrow escape as the driver of a KSRTC bus that was coming behind their bike promptly applied brakes.
The police said the incident occurred around 8.30 pm and Mohamed was reportedly speeding and skidded while taking a turn.
He sustained internal injuries after his bike handle hit his chest. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
Both Mohamed and Raghu were working in a private firm on Richmond Road.
