Andhra Pradesh: Advocates' elections gather steam
Kurnool: The campaign for Kurnool Bar Association election has been intensified with a fierce fight among the contending advocates.
Three persons are in fray contesting for president post which will be held on October 9. They have made social media their battle ground to advance their campaign. Their term for elected representatives is one year and the amount of interest shown in the election is beyond the comprehension of the ordinary advocate, said a senior advocate. It is learnt that sops were offered to advocates to enlist their support. The election officer P.V. Prasad Rao said that the polling is scheduled on 9th of this month at district court premises. As many as 1020 voters will cast their votes and polling will start from 9.00 am on Monday, and end around 1.00 pm the same day, election officer said. M. Murali Manohar, V. Nagalakshmi Devi and M. Subbaiah are contesting for the association President post. And S. Babu Saheb and G. Gopala Krishnaiah are contesting for general secretary post. The other committee members were almost elected as anonymously.
