Covid positive teachers on way to recovery
HYDERABAD: Three teachers in the zilla parishad school who contracted Covid-19 are recovering in hospital. The teachers contracted Covid-19 outside and started coming to school from September 1. Their health is monitored by district medical and health officer and a report is also being sent to the state health department in Hyderabad.
The worry is for children who are sitting on the first three benches. While the one-bench-one-child rule is in effect, the distance that the teacher has to maintain is not specified. Teachers must not remove masks while teaching as that is also one way in which aerosol transmission can be restricted.
A senior government teacher in Mulugu on condition of anonymity said, "We are yet to get the guidelines from the department. We also need to understand how much can be practically followed. Most of us have been wearing masks but it is difficult to teach. Also, will children be able to hear properly if teachers speak with the masks on?"
