Madurai: Tension prevailed in a private school in Madurai after a higher secondary girl student committed suicide under mysterious circumstances on Friday. Her relatives staged an agitation demanding action against the management of the school.
According to sources, 16-year old Archana was doing plus-1in a private school at K Pudur Gandhipuram in Madurai. She had not attended the school for nearly a week. However, she reached the school at 8.30 am on Friday. She came to the school along with a sari of her mother. When she was alone in the classroom, she hanged herself with the help of the sari in a ceiling fan. After her classmates entered the room, they found her body hanging from the fan. Immediately, they alerted the principal, who in turn informed the police.
Learning this, her parents and relatives rushed to the school and staged an agitation demanding action against the management for death of the student.
After pacifying them the cops, rushed the body to Rajaji Government General hospital for post-mortem. The cops have registered a case and investigating reasons behind her death.
