Hyderabad: Awareness campaigns in 7,600 schools

Every Friday will be observed as dry day, and publicity campaign would be conducted about the same.

Hyderabad: The GHMC has decided to intensify its anti-larval operations across the 7,600 government schools spread across the city. The corporation officials including zonal commissioner, deputy commissioners, assistant medical officer of health, and entomologists will visit schools on a regular basis to educate the children.

The awareness campaign also will highlight the need to drink boiled and cooled water and to avail the medical facilities provided at Urban Health Centres. Emphasis will also be laid on areas where most number of malaria and dengue cases were reported last year.

Officials said that the corporation has started a special drive along the Musi river to clear the hedges on the banks and to spray herbicides.
