Telangana polls: Contract staffers protest
Hyderabad: In view of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao dissolving the Assembly, around 4,500 Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) contractor workers who had come from all over the state and staged a protest in front of the CM camp office on Thursday.
M. Gopal, Cluster Research Person (CRP) who came from Gadwal to protest said, “We are working since ten years with minimum wages. Before elections, CM KCR promised us that all the contract/outsourcing workers will be regularised. We are protesting here to fulfil the promises he made.”
Mr Ravinder, Cluster research peron (CRP) said, “The government is not providing employment assurance, equal payment for equal work and maternity leave for women employees for 180 days with payment. We are demanding that CRP payments scale should be increased to the level of School Assistant scale.”
