Telangana assembly dissolution: Less burden on officials under caretaker CM
Hyderabad: Officials heaved a sigh of relief after the dissolution of the Assembly on Thursday, with the state coming under a caretaker government. In the last four years, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Cabinet colleagues have kept officials busy with review meetings. After Mr Rao stopped going to the Secretariat, Cabinet meetings and review meetings were held at his official residence.
Officials used to wait for hours at Pragathi Bhavan for review meetings. Sometimes, Mr Rao held review meetings at his farmhouse at Gajwel, about 70 km from the capital. As part of the caretaker government, Mr Rao and the Cabinet will have to handle only routine matters and will not be able to take any policy or major decision. Besides, they will be busy with the election campaign and not have the time for meetings with officials.
