Kozhikode plays major role in rebuilding

The public education department will organise a fund mobilising event among the school and college students.

Kozhikode: Kozhikode district has played the most critical role in the mission to rebuild the state after one of the biggest calamity ever, said K.V. Mohan Kumar, director of public instruction and special in-charge of Kozhikode district during the floods and after.

He was talking during a review meeting on Thursday at the Collectorate on relief activities. “It has to be noted that the district in its initial stage has estimated a loss of more than Rs 500 crore. Still, we have not bothered to indulge in the relief activities not just for the district but the whole of the state,” he said.
On September 11, the public education department will organise a fund mobilising event among the school and college students.

Location and time for the drive are, Kozhikode city- September 10 and 15- 3 pm to 7 Pm, Feroke- September 10- 9 Am to 12 Pm, Vadakara- September 11- 3 pm to 7 pm, Kuttiyadi- September 11- 9 Am to 12 Pm, Thamarassery- September 12- 9 Am to 12 Pm, Mukkam- September 13- 3 Pm to 7 Pm, Koyilandy September 15- 9 Am to 12 Pm. Officials said the donations should either be in cheque or DD.
