K Chandrasekhar Rao's obsession with number 6 continues

Mr Rao chose Sravana Sukravaram, an auspicious day, to kick-start electioneering on Friday.

Hyderabad: Caretake Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s obsession with his lucky number 6 and wearing a traditional cloth strap around the right arm continued on Thursday when he dissolved the Assembly and set the ground for early elections. While he secured the Cabinet resolution to dissolve the Assembly on September 6, the government lasted 51 months which adds up to six. Mr Rao also announced a list of 105 TRS candidates, which also totals 6. Mr Rao chose Sravana Sukravaram, an auspicious day, to kick-start electioneering on Friday.

The day will be redolent with his other beliefs. One sentiment that Mr Rao strictly follows ever since he became MLA for the first time in the 1980s from the TD is to pray at the Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Konayapalli near Siddipet.

Mr Rao will visit the temple on Friday before proceeding to launch the party’s campaign in Husnabad. He had launched his 2014 election campaign after performing special pujas at the Konayapalli temple. Mr Rao always lauches state initiatives from Karimnagar, which is towards the east of the state and is said to be auspicious as per vastu which Rao believes strongly.
