Chennai: IAS Officers Association has condemned an attempt by a section of media to carry out a smear campaign on the former secretary of higher education department who has had a “good track record”.
Taking a strong exception to the news item, IAS Officers Association president P.W.C. Davidar claimed that the report “simply dragged the name of an IAS officer heading higher education department (Sunil Paliwal) into the matter (Anna University revaluation scam) with no apparent proof.”
Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has unearthed a major scam in revaluation at Anna University and it registered a case against former controller of examinations G.V. Uma and nine others.
The Vice-Chancellor convener committee headed by Mr.Sunil Paliwal had raised the first alarm about the scam.
