BSY free to file case against me for whatever he has lost, says H D Kumaraswamy
BENGALURU: Ridiculing former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa for his threat to file a defamation case against him, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday said the former could move the court over “whatever he has lost.” Replying to questions by the media at Ramanagara, during a visit to flag off development projects, Mr Kumaraswamy said he was ready to provide whatever proof required in support of his allegation that the BJP was trying to rock his government.“What has he lost? Does he have it? Let him go to court and file a case against me to regain whatever he has lost. I will reply at an appropriate time. I just don't talk without any basis,” he added.
His reaction came a day after state BJP chief B.S. Yeddyurappa and his son, B.Y. Vijayendra, rubbished Mr Kumaraswamy’s claim that they were trying to destablise his government. Responding to Mr Kumaraswamy’s claim that Mr. Vijayendra had met Income Tax chief Balakrishnan, to create trouble for him, Mr Yeddyurappa told reporters here that the CM was being irresponsible in making such a statement. “Why should we bother about his problems when we are busy resolving our own cases before the Supreme Court and High Court? Why should we meet the Income Tax chief or the ED? If Mr. Kumaraswamy has any evidence, he should come out with it or else not accuse someone unnecessarily,” he added. Mr. Vijayendra too insisted that being a CM, Mr Kumaraswamy should be more responsible in his statements.
“He is feeling insecure. But when as CM he has full access to the state intelligence department, he should go it for feedback before making such statements,” he added. Former BJP minister Aravind Limbavali also dismissed the CM’s allegation as baseless. On Ramanagara Assembly byelection, the seat which he vacated after winning Ramanagara and Channapatna, Mr Kumaraswamy said he had not spoken to Congress leaders over seat adjustment. When Mr Kumaraswamy was reminded that Ramanagara district Congress leaders, including defeated MLA candidates and MLCs were opposed to Congress joining hands with JD(S) during by-elections, Mr Kumaraswamy said such discussions would commence only when the date of bypoll is announced.
