Viayawada: The AP state BJP is planning to launch massive protests against the corruption and anti-public policies of the Telugu Desam government. A core committee meeting of AP BJP was held in the state BJP office at Guntur on Thursday and action plans were discussed to strengthen the BJP in the coming days.

Former minister and AP state BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana, addressing the core committee meeting, asserted on the need for strengthening the party from booth level. He said the TD after cutting off from the BJP had conducted a negative campaign agai-nst the BJP for the past three months. He asked the BJP leaders to retaliate and counter the TD campaign by conducting protests and agitations highlighting the failures and corruption of TD. He also asked the leaders to take the BJP government’s welfare schemes amongst the masses as this would help to popularise the BJP.

BJP MP (Rajyasabha) Mr. GVL Narasimha Rao said the BJP will discuss the issue of petroleum price hike in its executive committee meeting.

He alleged that AP was the only state which collected the highest Value Added Tax (VAT); there was a provision of decreasing VAT on petrol and diesel; other states were doing it and AP could have also done this but Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu continued with the highest VAT and continued to blame the BJP government. He stated that the BJP will conduct multiple protests and agitations in 13 districts of AP to highlight the failures of the TD government and expose TD’s corruption.
