AP Cabinet approves draft Bill of Maritime Board

The Cabinet also approved including D Pharm students in the list of beneficiaries of Chandranna Yuvanestham.

Vijayawada: The state Cabinet which met here on Thursday, cleared the draft bill of the AP Maritime Board and accepted proposal to make changes to the agreement government signed with the Machilipatnam Port Limited that paves the way to raise a loan of Rs 1,385 crore to develop the port and an industrial corridor in Machilipatnam, and agreed to provide incentives to Indigo airlines to start direct flights from Viajayawada to Singapore twice a week.

The Cabinet also decided to start registrations for Chandranna Yuvanestham, the scheme that provides a monthly stipend to unemployed youth from September 14. The scheme will be launched on October 2.

The Cabinet also approved including D Pharm students in the list of beneficiaries of Chandranna Yuvanestham.

The Cabinet approved a proposal to denotify the exclusive limits of Krish-napatnam port in the wake of the approval given to develop a non major port at Ramayapatnam. The Cabinet also approved setting up the Arya Vysya welfare and development corporation under the Andhra Pradesh Coopera-tive Societies Act. Loans to Arya Vysya youth for business and foreign studies will be given through this corporation.

The state Cabinet also decided to reduce the price of the land allotted to Apollo Tyres which has come forward to set up a state of the art tyre manufacturing facility in Chittoor district. While the earlier price was Rs 14.03 lakh per acre, it has now been revised to Rs 11 lakh.
