Pinarayi Vijayan feasts new Union minister
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and union minister of state for tourism, IT and electronics Alphons Kannanthanam on Wednesday resolved to work for the development of the state setting aside political differences.
The chief minister had invited the newly appointed union minister for lunch at the Kerala House. After the meeting, Kannanthanam said he was the representative of Kerala and he would work for the state’s interests.
Pinarayi described Kanannthanam as an outstanding Parliamentarian. “I hope he will perform outstandingly in Parliament the way he did in Assembly as MLA,” he said.
The union minister recollected that it was the chief minister who initiated him into politics. As union minister I will be able to do many things for the development of the state. My energies and work will be directed at that,” he said.
Kannathanam said he was happy to work with the chief minister. “When I became union minister , the chief minister had put a post on his Facebook page. I am thankful for the warmth shown by the chief minister,” he added.
