Hyderabad: A 21-year-old engineering student was killed when his bike was hit by a car on Thursday. The deceased, Gilakattula Vinod, 21, was a student of VBIT in Aushapur, and a resident of Uppal.
“On Thursday morning Vinod and his friend Sangam Sai Kiran, started from Uppal to go to their college at Aushapur on Sai Kiran's bike. Vinod was driving and Sai Kiran was on the pillion. When they came near Aurora college a car rashly driven by a degree student hit their bike from the front killing Vinod on the spot. Sai Kiran was injured seriously,” said inspector B. Prakash of Ghatkesar.
Sai Kiran was shifted to Aditya Hospital for treatment. The other students pulled the boy out of the car and beat him up. He was going back after dropping his sister at college. "He was hospitalised and his car was brought to the police station," said a policeman.
