Hyderabad: An SI of Rajendranagar was injured in a group clash during a Ganesh procession late on Tuesday night.
Police said one Gyaneshwar and Sagar, both residents of Bandlaguda, near the police Academy, took out Ganesh processions from their colonies and were going to the immersion point.
“When the two processions reached the main thoroughfare there was a scuffle between them over giving way. Soon they started throwing stones. SI K. Venkat Reddy and constable Narsimha were injured in the attack,” said inspector V. Umender.
More police forces rushed to the spot and dispersed the crowd. The SI the constable were shifted to hospital.
