Anantapur: A nine-months-old boy was killed while his mother and sister suffered serious injuries when the roof of their house collapsed at Malyavantham village in Bathalapalli mandal in the district due to heavy rains on Wednesday.
Sources said, Katamaiah, a farm labourer was residing in an old house in Malyavantham village along with wife B. Running, daughter, Roopa, 3, and nine-months-old son.
Due to heavy rains the roof of the house collapsed in the early hours on Wednesday. While the baby boy died on the spot, his sister Roopa and mother suffered serious injuries. People from the village rushed to the spot and removed debris and rescued the Rukmini and Roopa.
Body of the boy was shifted to RDT hospital for post-mortem. Roopa was shifted to Anantapur general hospital for medical treatment.
