Kochi: Mop-up counselling for MBBS from today
Kochi: The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations has reported 287 MBBS vacant seats in 18 private medical colleges across the state in the mop-up counselling scheduled on August 7 and 8 after the second round of allotment. There are a total of 16 MBBS vacancies in the government medical colleges in the state in the mop-up counselling.
Out of the 10 government medical colleges in the state, only six have reported vacancies while among private medical colleges, the Kolencherry-based MOSC Medical College has not reported any vacancies.
The mop-up counselling will be held at Travancore International Convention Centre, Sports Hub (Greenfield Stadium), Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram. It will start at 10 a.m. on August 7 and will continue on August 8 in case the counselling is not completed on August 7. The candidates who are included in the Kerala state medical rank list published by the CEE alone can participate in the mop-up counselling. Those who are admitted through all-India counselling are not eligible. The mop-up counselling for BDS course will be notified later. Candidates coming under the medical rank up to 10,000 must report in the morning session at 10 a.m. on August 7 and those in the medical rank after 10,000 must report for the noon session at 2 p.m.
Transfer will not be permitted from a government medical college to another government medical college and from a self-financing medical college to another self-financing medical college. It will be permitted to students admitted in self-financing medical colleges to government medical colleges and vice-versa. Transfer from NRI seat to government/minority seat will be permitted between two self-financing colleges or in the same college, even if it is for the same course.
Candidates getting allotment during the mop-up counselling will have to remit the prescribed fee at the venue of mop-up counselling by way of demand draft drawn from a nationalised/scheduled bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Details are available on the CEE's website. After mop-up counselling, no cancellation of admission is permitted. Any candidate who applies for TC/cancellation of admission under any circumstances after the last allotment notified by the CEE will have to pay liquidated damages.
