Inspector K. Murali-dhar of the Nallakunta police said, “Early Tuesday morning at around 6 am, he went to work. He was carrying a bundle of newspapers and kept it on the handle. Due to the impact he fell off the bike and sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot.”

The police has booked a case under Section 304(a) (causing death by negligence) and further investigation is on.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the boy’s father S. Venkat Rao, a cable operator in Amberpet, said, “I have lost my only son. He joined as a newspaper boy eight months ago with a paper agent. He used to supply papers to the houses in our area. Today a paper boy who used to supply papers to a stall near Osmania University didn't come to work. So the paper agent under whom my son worked sent him to supply newspapers on behalf of the absentee.”
