Thiruvananthapuram: CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Monday called for state-wide protests against the killing of party activist Abubacker Siddique in Uppala in Kasargod district.

Abdul Siddique who was hacked to death allegedly by RSS BJP gang while he was returning home on Sunday night.

Siddique was the 17th CPM worker to have been killed allegedly by BJP RSS since the LDF government came to power in 2016.

“On one side SDPI and on the other the RSS and BJP were trying to unleash terror by carrying out such ghastly murders. The state has not yet to come to terms with the shocking murder of Maharajas college student Abhimanyu in Kochi. The SDPI killer gang had killed the SFI Idukki district committee member in the most brutal manner,” he said.

Kodiyeri alleged that the murder in Uppala had exposed the nexus between BJP and killer gangs. The BJP which has been completely isolated from people is trying to divert the attention by unleashing widespread violence. There see-ms to be a deliberate attem-pt to create an impression that the law and order situation in the state is not under control.

Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said all those who wished peace and tranquillity in the state should come forward to protest against the brutal murder.
