Karnataka: Cop dies of heart attack while on duty
Bengaluru: A 57-year-old Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) attached to Vijayanagar police station died after suffering a massive heart attack while on duty on Saturday night.
Chandrashekhar was part of the team investigating a case registered at the Vijayanagar police station. On Saturday at around 6.30 pm, Chandrashekhar was asked by the Vijayanagar police station inspector to visit Indiranagar over an enquiry.
Chandrashekhar left the station along with his friend and took metro to reach Indira Nagar. As he deboarded the train in Indiranagar, the police said, he complained of severe chest pain following which his friend took him out of the station and tried to hire auto to rush him to a nearby hospital.
However it took time for him to get an auto. A few minutes later, Chandrashekhar died, before reaching the hospital.
