Andhra Pradesh cops mull legal action on Google
The police had earlier served notice to Google over the fake information but the company did not send its officials.
Visakhapatnam: The Vizag cyber crime police has issued a notice warning of legal action against Google if the company’s representatives do not appear by July 8 in connection with fake data appearing in the website’s search engine.
The police had earlier served notice to Google over the fake information but the company did not send its officials.
Google had responded through email and no representative of the company tuned up.
The police told Google that online fraudsters were adding fake phone numbers in the customer care section of popular companies, organisations, hotels and banks.
Those calling these fake numbers would fall in the trap of fraudsters and be cheated, the police told Google.
