TRS MP Balka Suman claims there is case of trespass

A case was registered against the two women with the Mancherial police and they were arrested in February, he said.

Hyderabad: TRS MP Balka Suman has been accused of sexually harassing two women, who wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek his intervention.

The MP alleged that the two women and their associates had trespassed into his property and his aide had filed a case on the matter in June. He said, “I will kill myself if the allegations are proved to be true.”

Mr Suman told this newspaper that the two women had morphed his family photograph with the face of another woman. “They tried to extort money from me by showing the morphed photograph,” Mr Suman said.

A case was registered against the two women with the Mancherial police and they were arrested in February, he said.

“If the allegations are proved, I will hang myself from a tree on Lower Tank Bund. I have never done any mistake,” Mr Suman said.

Mr Suman said that the two women and their associates had trespassed into his property at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, which led to an altercation. A police complaint was filed in this regard by his personal assistant, following which the women accused him of sexual harassment, he said.

“Mr Suman’s PA Marri Suneel lodged a complaint on June 7 that Sandhya, Vijetha and the two men, Shankar and Gopal, had barged into the MP’s flat in Nandininagar on May 31 and created a ruckus,” Banjara Hills inspector K. Srinivas said.

“We booked cases against them under IPC Sections 448 (punishment for trespass) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) ba-sed on a complaint from Mr Suneel. We are unaware of the story behind the case and are probing the same,” the inspector said.

Asked about the charge charge that the police had restrained the two sisters, Task Force inspector Nageswara Rao said the police had taken details from them. “There is no case against the MP and this is a case of old enmity,” he said.

Mancherial circle inspector A. Mahesh said the two women, Boyini Sandhya and Vijetha, had circulated a morphed photograph of TRS MP Balka Suman on social media and tried to extort money in February.

“The photos were circulated on social media with an intent to defame and blackmail the MP. On February 6, we arrested them and sent them to judicial remand,” he said.

He said the case had not been publicised on the request of Mr Suman.

They were booked under IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 292A (obscene material), 419 (impersonation) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and Section of 66D of IT Act.

Mr Mahesh claimed that the women had cheated at least 20 to 30 people in Mancherial, Karimnagar and Chandrapur in the past eight years. He said no complaint was filed at that time, and police is now looking for evidence to file cases.
