Missing girl traced to Khammam

As she did not return home that day, her parents got in touch with the college management and found that Ramya never showed up at college that day.

Hyderabad: An 18-year-old girl who went missing after leaving from home to go to college was traced to Khammam on Thursday. The girl apparently told her parents that she was going to attend college but never returned, Medipally police said.

Around 7.30 am on June 3, N. Ramya (18), a resident of Peerzadiguda, currently pursuing her second-year in diploma at a private college in Ghatkesar, left from home to go to college.

As she did not return home that day, her parents got in touch with the college management and found that Ramya never showed up at college that day. After several failed attempts to find her, her mother N. Rajitha lodged a missing complaint with Medipally police.

The inspector said that Ramya was traced to Khammam on Thursday. Her parents on Wednesday had apparently scheduled her engagement with a man who she wasn't interested in as she was in love with her classmate and therefore, had escaped to Khammam with him.

“Ramya has agreed to return to the city on Friday and give her statement,” he added.
