Coimbatore: A 46-year-old tailor, pained over his wife’s alleged extra-marital affair, committed suicide by hanging after poisoning his son near Saravanampatti in suburbs of Coimbatore.
According to police, tailor Arjun residing near Sivanandhapuram was found hanging dead along with his 13-year-old son Yogesh inside his house while his wife Alamelu was out on Wednesday.
On information from neighbors, Saravanampatti police rushed to spot and sent the bodies to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem; police also found a letter inside house penned by Arjun before committing suicide, in which he alleged that his wife Alamelu was having an extra-marital affair despite advising her many times. The letter said Alamelu did not regret her mistake and that had made Arjun poison his son and to take his own life. Arjun had also taken cow dung powder mix before hanging. Police is investigating.
