Hyderabad: Towards a World of Equals. This is the title of the 269 page-text book to be a part of the curriculum in all degree colleges from this academic year in Telangana.
The book is part of a gender sensitisation course, which will have two credits in the second semester and is mandatory for students pursuing undergraduate courses — BSc, B.Com, BA.
The move drew praise from Union HRD Minister, Smriti Irani. While releasing the book through a video conference meeting from New Delhi, she said that this is a novel initiative by Telangana authorities.
The book will focus on citizenship and rights, problem of violence, countering sexual harassment and issues related to equality and freedom, as well as law and rights issues.
