Priyanka accuses BJP of ignoring real 'terror' in Karnataka: Unemployment, price rise

Mangaluru: AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed surprise over Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking up issues like terrorism and national security during his campaign for the Karnataka Assembly election. She defined unemployment, price rise, and corruption as the real ‘terror’ bothering the people of Karnataka.

She was speaking at the election campaign at Mulki on Sunday.

She alleged that as the ruling party cannot speak about the price rise and unemployment, it has resorted to taking up such issues. “The BJP cannot see the farmers suicide. If there is any terror in Karnataka it is the terror of unemployment, price rise, corruption, and 40 percent commission government which is looting the people,” she said.

She also attacked the ruling BJP for the privatization of the PSUs, Airports, and Ports.

“During election issues concerning people like the price rise and development should be taken up. Instead, they (BJP leaders) take up sentimental issues. They feel people vote for such issues. It has become a habit. This should end. The election is a chance to change the future,” she said.

Speaking about the guarantees, Priyanka said that the party has kept up all the promises it had made in the Congress-ruling states like Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

“We will put our effort to fill the vacant government jobs in Karnataka within a year. Also, we will bring complete development to the state. We will also work to include the Tulu language in the 8th schedule. Under the Stand with Mogaveera scheme- 10 lakh insurance will be provided for each fisherman, Rs 1 lakh interest-free loan for fisherwoman, subsidy for purchasing a fishing boat and efforts to provide 3 lakh employment in the sector,” she added.
She also proposed to have an IT and Garment industry hub.
